MIXT GREENS is a great place to go if you love fresh salads or sandwiches. I had been looking for a restaurant similar to Pluto’s and I think this is it. In some ways I like Pluto’s salad dressing better but then again, it didn’t say nonfat on it either. Mixt greens, gives you the option of a variety of lettuce types and then the ingredients you want based in a couple pricing scenarios. And a variey of salad dressing, one of which was nonfat which I generally will choose.
My salad was made with some fresh hearts of romaine, cucumbers, red onions mango and candied walnuts and I added grilled chicken. It was great. I like this restaurant because they have a fish option. You can add coriander crusted seared ahi tuna to your salad or choose the chicken, pork or steak ….including American Kobe Beef for the carnivores among us. All of these selections are free-range, antibiotic and hormone free ! As for the encrusted tuna,, for those of you who don’t really like it raw in the middle…. kinda sushi looking but very fresh… then you won’t want it. I will get that next time though because I love it.
The sandwiches looked good and they come with a small side salad. I wanted to dine in but it was so packed that I had to take it back to the office to eat. It traveled well and I ate every drop of it. Salad lovers..head over and don’t look back you will not be disappointed. Comes ith a small slice of bread. Mine was about $10 but mixt greens gets a score of 10 in the freshness category ! What a great food to eat for nice warm summer days. Above is my salad in progress…below is the final product:
